Kathleen (Katie) Dunn has spent the last 17 years of her career with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services beginning as the bureau chief of communicable diseases and then as a nurse consultant in maternal and child health. During her tenure she has served as the director of Public Health and Medicaid for the State of New Hampshire from 1999 – 2003, the deputy Medicaid director from 2003 – 2008 and in 2008 was appointed to serve as State Medicaid Director. Ms. Dunn is one of the primary architects and founding program director for New Hampshire’s State Children’s Health Insurance Program. As Medicaid director, she has overseen various utilization management, payment reform, purchasing, quality and reporting strategies.
Ms. Dunn has a special interest in the art and science of public health and quality improvement particularly as applied to the Medicaid population. In addition to being a registered nurse, she received her master’s degree in public health from Boston University with a concentration in health services administration.
