Suzanne Brennan


Medicaid Director (2011-2014)


Suzanne Brennan was the Medicaid director within the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) from 2011 to 2014. HCPF works to improve access to cost-effective, quality health care services for Coloradans through its administration of the Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus programs, as well as a variety of other programs for Colorado’s low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

Before joining HCPF, Ms. Brennan was a senior program officer for the Colorado Health Foundation, where she developed and implemented strategies to help the Foundation achieve its goal that all Coloradans receive quality, coordinated health care. Prior to that, she served as vice president of Government Health Services for Policy Studies, Inc., designing operational solutions for state Medicaid and CHIP programs around the country. Before her career shift to the nonprofit sector, Ms. Brennan worked in a variety of positions providing strategic planning and market strategy development for technology and telecommunications companies.

Ms. Brennan received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from The Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
